I am a Promise with a capitol P.

I live for a purpose.
That's what God has been repeatedly telling me.
I'm here for a reason.
I saw a song on my friend's status that I haven't heard since going to children's programs.

I am a promise I am a possibility I am a promise with a capital "P"
I am a great big bundle of potentiality
And I am learnin' to hear God's voice
And I am tryin' to make the right choice
I am a promise to be anything God wants me to be.

I thought, I should listen to kids songs more often if they are gonna that inspirational. ;)

I have been slightly frustrated lately wondering, what in heaven's name am I supposed to be doing with my life? What in the world will I end up doing. How can I do whatever it is. I have been literally begging God to tell me these things. Begging him to answer me and give me something hard, great, yet satisfying, something to give Him glory. Then I read this in a book.

One song can spark a moment.
One flower can wake the dream.
One tree can start a forest.
One bird can herald spring.
One smile begins a friendship.
One handclasp lifts a soul.
One star can guide a ship.
One word can frame a goal.
One vote can change a nation,
One sunbeam can light a room.
One candle wipes out darkness.
One laugh will conquer gloom.
One step must start each journey.
One word must start each prayer.
One hope will raise our spirits.
One touch can show you care.
One voice can speak with power.
One heart can know what's love.
One life can make a difference.

I thought...whoa.
My life in it's self, right now, right here, can make a difference.

"To the world, you may be one person. To one person, you may be the world."

I am a promise I am a possibility I am a promise with a capital "P"
I am a great big bundle of potentiality
And I am learnin' to hear God's voice
And I am tryin' to make the right choice
I am a promise to be anything God wants me to be.

So, I am sitting by quite anxiously, knowing I am God's promise.

  1. That's good! I heard someone say once..."We to often think that God's will is some big unknown that we'll never know until He decides to show us. But that's not true. We should always be in God's will, and if we're in the center of His will...then He'll show us which way to go in His time." I thought that was really good. All to long I was trying to 'find' His will, when it was right in front of me. I just needed to surrender to Him and let Him take care of the rest.
